Legend has it that on the day he decided to become a Christian, the devil, in the form of a crow, told him that he should be converted the next day (Latin cras, cras 'tomorrow, tomorrow'), whereupon Expeditus took the bird with him trampled on one foot and exclaimed, "I will be a Christian today! Today!” During Diocletian's persecution he is said to have been martyred in Melitene, today's Malatya.
He is depicted as a Roman legionnaire, holding a cross or banner with the inscription Hodie (Latin for "today") in his right hand and a martyr's palm in his left.
It helps in situations where time is of the essence and something needs to be accomplished immediately.
Stable figure made of polyresin, 14 cm high.
